ARTIST STATEMENT
"I have been an artist from before I can remember; always my art has defined me. Over the past 15 years I have experimented with many different mediums from
metal to clay, paper to stone.
My childhood in Costa Rica had a tremendous influence and it come through with my love of natural materials and organic design. Traveling through Europe, the Middle East, Central and South America observing those different cultures gave me a feel for the diversity of art and a sense of freedom to create unique techniques. It was on a trip to Argentina that I first came across pine needle basketry and began learning the technique from master fiber artist Delfa Deriu. I am currently living in Los Angeles, where I continue to learn and experiment, always striving to give character and beauty to each piece making them an expression of my love of form and design, with time mastered workmanship."
